His vocal prowess's only matched by his engaging personality and unique ability to mesmerize you, (live on CD). Leslie's musical career covers a vast multitude of experiences. This being his second CD for Canaan Lake Records Inc. titled ;MIXED BAG ; will be self-explanatory when you hear it! Leslie is also lead singer for the famed 60's group THE DUBS ; with such classic hits as (Chapel of Dreams, Please Don't Ask Me To Be Lonely and many more....)It is said that some people are born to sing. This is definitely true for Nathaniel Leslie Anderson. At a very early age, the catalyst and inspiration for his singing career included Tony Williams of the Platters Frankie Lyman and Sam Cooke. Leslie's destiny with singing was inevitable, as he sang with local groups and toured around
Western Massachusetts, as fate would have it, however, his next tour would be in Vietnam While in Vietnam, his last group The Quotations" recorded two singles which he had co-written, I've Got You ,It Could Happen To You ; with (legendary producers) Phil Medley Phil Spector. Upon his return from Vietnam, Leslie's transition home was anything but smooth. Thoughts of singing professionally seemed like a thing of the past. After a few set-backs, Leslie became determined to once again, take hold of his own destiny. Soon, he found himself at the University of Massachusetts, where he pursued a degree in Juvenile Justice. As an extracurricular activity Leslie joined a school chorus named Voices of New Africa Workshop Choir" started by Mr. Max Roach the choir continued under Dr Horace Boyer a gospel singer & educator. Under the tutelage of Dr Boyer the desire to sing was once again rekindled & Leslie helped to form a vocal group called Reconstruction As well as performing regionally, Reconstruction's tenure was highlighted when they performed as the opening act for Natalie Cole and later for the world renowned Ella Fitzgerald. After graduation, Leslie entered graduate school but he did not abandon his music career. When he was given the opportunity to join a national touring, show group ;Rock-nRoll Heaven ;. He took advantage of his opportunity and began touring the United States. In the show he performed a tribute to Sam Cooke, and Billy Kinney of the Ink Spot. After some time on the road, Leslie finally settled down in New York . I n New York, Leslie came into contact with Mr. Bernard Jones, who connected him to Mr. Cleveland Stills Mr. Cleveland Stills, an original member of the "DUBS ; (a vocal group known nationally for such hits hits as Could This Be Magic Chapel of Dreams; and ;Don't Ask Me To Be Lonely) and decided to come out of retirement and form a new group. For the last fifteen years, Leslie has been thrilling audiences as lead singer for the Cleveland Stills Dubs. In addition, he returned to graduate school and obtained a master's degree in Early Childhood Education ; He currently teaches kindergarten at the Upper Manhattan Day Care Center in New York and is director of a program that provides home instruction for pre-school youngsters, while continuing a full time musical career
