Like a shadow in the night,
came an evil foe to fight,
His aim was swift and so precise,
he hurt us with our own device.
His plan created over years, he learned
our loves, our lives , our fears.
Our doors wide open to invite, the good,
the poor with all their plights.
It happened one September mourn,
our memories shattered , our cities torn.
To see so many lives in pain,
too much to handle , or to explain.
Will we ever trust again,
to greet a stranger , or make a friend?
Clouds that hid the city lights,
lined with souls now lost in flight.
People wander through the crowds ,
fleeing evils deadly sounds
Pictures raised in hopes to find ,
a family member or passer-by .
Amidst the hills of crumbled steel,
a muffled cry , no time to heal.
Afraid to not believe the truth,
each day exposing all the proof.
They tried to take our liberty,
a cowards strike, it’s vanity.
They thought that we could not unite ,
our battles always , black and white.
Could they know or comprehend,
we were just becoming friends.
What they failed , to clearly see,
that day they helped us to agree.

We’ll come together and erase ,
all who come invade our space.
Now they run in nervous haste,
our countries leaders join the race,
To seek out those who trash our flag,
who celebrate and boldly brag.
By nitza leon
As they burn our country’s flag,
Jealous of what we still have,
We look at them with such pity,
Even though they strike our city,
Their hate is clear through –out the world,
Fueled by madmen with fingers curled,
Why so many follow him?
The man they call bin laden.
He leads his war as cowards do,
Hidden by those who believe his spew.
They give their lives for this crazed soul,
Believing all that they’ve been told.
He uses god to sell his lie,
That’s why so many want to die.
He says to kill is his god’s will,
The god world known doesn’t kill,
In memory of those we lost,
We changed our laws and spared no cost,
To go to war to seek revenge,
They say to honor family and friends .
So much to do we’re so involved ,
Each day just testing our resolve,
As we try to claim our day,
Thoughts of battles etch their way.
To send young men to that vast land,
That hide our enemies deep in the sand.
Created by god to be a shrine,
Poisoned by those with evil in mind.
They reign on us with taunts and jeers,
In hopes to get our young men near.
They killed many people,
we can’t give them more,
No way should our country go to war.
Let’s pray that our leaders feel the same way,
To lose our young people, is too much to pay.
